Consistency

That's the highlight from our November 2025 fleece testing results with a large proportion of our herd remaining consistent in their testing on their 3rd, 4th, 5th fleeces and beyond. We are happy with a herd average of 20.93 over all 58 alpacas up to their 8th fleece. This is on long, green pastures with trim off on the testing - no shortcuts taken.

Looking onwards to 2026 and we have a number of show prospects to consider. Of special interest will be RD Higgs Boson who cut a massive fleece in his first shear. While he is the current star, he also has a number of his contempories not far behind. We also know last years intermediates will hold their stats into adulthood. Competition will be tough for the 5-6 spots in the show team van.

On the breeding front we await the unpacking of our second crop from Sven, while RNZ Maximus will have his first. Really looking forward to some high quality maidens joining the breeding herd for matings, most notably RD Hawaii, a favourite. She will be served by RNZ Maximus, RD Fields of Gold (by Waikara Park Cooper) will be mated to RD Sven, while our high-profile purchase Stoney Meadows Tiger Lily is to be mated to Shamarra Galactica. Can't wait - exciting times ahead!
